Carleton Good Food Campus Coordinator

Key Activities:

  • Work with Meal Exchange, your campus food service, and other partners to implement the Good Food Campus program on your campus;
  • Widely distribute a survey to your campus body, evaluating food insecurity rates, areas of improvement for your campus, and student priorities;
  • With support, analyze and interpret survey results;
  • Plan and facilitate student consultation meetings to gather qualitative data;
  • Write a report of results and recommendations;
  • Create infographics and other communications materials;
  • Conduct research on your campus food system and stakeholders;
  • Convene diverse stakeholders to present your research findings and recommendations;
  • Join in weekly online meetings with colleagues and other learning opportunities with students from across Canada;
  • Contribute to social media and newsletter content creation

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Interest in food systems and food security;
  • Highly organized, motivated and detail-oriented;
  • Able to work both independently from home and collaboratively as part of a small team;
  • Ability to participate actively in a remote team, including regular online and phone meetings with colleagues, campus stakeholders, and other student leaders;
  • Familiar with how change happens on campus and capacity to connect with faculty, administrators, students, and other stakeholders;
  • Strong writing skills and experience writing reports;
  • Experience using google docs, google sheets, and zoom;
  • Experience distributing surveys and analyzing survey data is a strong asset;
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills (previous experience with facilitating meetings and workshops is an asset); and,
  • A solution-focused mentality.

Funding for this position is through Canada Summer Jobs, a successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations


Contract length: 15 weeks

Part-time hours: 14 per week
