Pilau Rice



  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp thirteen pilau masala
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper 
  • 3 cups rice
  • ¼ cup raisins 
  • 4 small tomatoes (chopped or blended)
  • 6 cups water
  • Salt


  1. Crush the garlic
  2. Sauté the onion until it is golden brown.
  3. Add salt and pilau masala 
  4. add the tomatoes and green greenpeppers stir gradually until the tomatoes are thoroughly cooked down to the consistency of a sauce.
  5. Add the rice and stir everything together covered over medium heat until all are nicely brown, about 10 minutes.
  6. Add the 6 cups water to the rice mixture, bring to a boil at a low heat nd then for another 15-20 minutes until all water is absorbed and the rice is cooked through.
  7. add raisins and serve
