Delicious Sticky Barbecued Chicken Wings

Delicious Sticky Barbecued Chicken Wings

My name is David, I grew up in a small town in Congo. I loved cooking growing up, and my favourite food was Chicken Wings. One day I went to a library, and I found a book called Chicken The New Classic by Marcus Bean, which inspired me to make my favourite chicken wings to this day.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 ½ tbsp of Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 ½ tbsp honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 ½ inch piece ginger root, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp peanut oil
  • 1 tbsp of berbere

Instructions

  • Mix together all the marinade ingredients all in a bowl until well blended
  • Stir the chicken wings, making they are all completely coated
  • Cover with plastic wrap and let it marinate 2 to 3 hrs or ideally overnight in the refrigerator
  • Heat of to 400 degrees F
  • Spread the chicken wings in a large roasting pan pouring excess marinade over the chicken
  • Roast for 20 to 30 minutes until the wings are cooked through and the marinade has caramelised so it is nice and sticky.
